Summer heat

Extreme heat in Germany. Best time to watch Hitchcock's Rear Window (German: Das Fenster zum Hof) again.
Whenever I watch this movie, which plays during a heatwave in New York, I can feel the heat myself.
It will be interesting to watch this movie now, as it is surley as hot here as in the movie...

My first Windows Phone App

I recently bought a Windows Phone and started playing around with app writing for it. My first app 'WebSearch' is now available in the Windows Phone Store, providing a simple interface to issue web searches to freely configurable websites.

Last hike for my shoes

As I live in Innsbruck, I try to go hiking as often as I can. Looks like a bit too often for some gear, because today my hiking shoes gave up - admittedly after more than 10 years and serving me well in the Alps, Corsica and around Seattle, WA. I guess it is finally time for a new pair...

Snow shoe hiking

Last weekend, I went snow shoe hiking in the Alps with my best friend Toby. We had great weather with a blue sky, sunshine - and of course loads of snow. Hiking was brilliant and fun. Luckily, the avalanches we saw (we are currently at level 4 of 5) were in a safe distance.
